Education Programs
Project Based Learning
Providing teachers and students with data from the KU Car Care program is only one component of the educational
outreach services provided in collaboration with PathFinder Science. Classrooms participating in the KU Car Care program will
also likely find other atmospheric Project Based Learning modules invaluable.
- Lichens and SO2
Help us explore the environmental impacts of Sulfur Dioxide by studying the density and diversity of lichens.
- Keeping An Eye on Ozone
Check out your local Ground Level Ozone readings with Ecobadges and Milkweed plants.
- UVB and DNA
Help us investigate the link between the sun's harmful UVB rays and cell damage.
- Global Warming
Carbon Dioxide is considered to be the primary compound of the Green House Gases. Help us track the changes in these gases by counting the stomata of leafs.
Student Research Annals
Students conducting research may also be interested in publishing their findings in the online Annals of
student research. Select authors will have their work reprinted in an annual print publication, with an accompanying
certificate of achievement.
The Air Fair
The KU Car Care program will also be sponsoring an "Air Fair" in the greater Kansas City metro during the spring of 2003. For
teachers interested in particpating, contact Dr. Steve Case at scase@pathfinderscience.net
for more information.
